Μελισσοκόμοι για μια μέρα στο G.S.Ecophysis!
Στο πλαίσιο των δραστηριοτήτων για ενίσχυση της ομαδικότητας, η ΑΚΤΗ επισκέφθηκε το μέλος του Green Cluster G.S. Ecophysis για μια μοναδική διαδραστική εμπειρία μελισσοκομίας! Ο Κώστας και η Γεωργία μετά από μια σύντομη εισαγωγή για τη διαδικασία παραγωγής μελιού, μας οδήγησαν στις κυψέλες όπου είδαμε από κοντά τα μελίσσια. Έπειτα μας πρόσφεραν γεύμα με ντόπια προϊόντα και μέλι, το οποίο είχαμε την ευκαιρία να προμηθευτούμε!
Συμμετοχή ΑΚΤΗΣ στην Εκδήλωση νερού από το ΤΑΥ
Η ομάδα της ΑΚΤΗΣ παρευρέθηκε στην Εκδήλωση του Τμήματος Αναπτύξεως Υδάτων “νερό…σταγόνες ζωής” στη Λευκωσία στις 18 Μαρτίου. Στο πλαίσιο των δραστηριοτήτων “Δημιουργώ με το νερό”, η ομάδα της ΑΚΤΗΣ παρουσίασε έκθεση νερού προτείνοντας τρόπους εξοικονόμησης με τη χρήση ακροφυσίων στις βρύσες, άνυδρου ουρητηρίου και διπλής ροής καζανάκια. Στόχος μας να παρέχουμε στοχευμένες λύσεις που να ανταποκρίνονται στις προτάσεις των διεθνών φορέων για βιώσιμη ανάπτυξη.

Η ΑΚΤΗ Κέντρο Μελετών και Έρευνας προσφέρει ευκαιρίες πρακτικής άσκησης (Internships) με αντιμισθία, διάρκειας 6 μηνών σε νέους αποφοίτους σχολών Marketing, IT, Public Relations και συναφείς τομείς.
Στο πλαίσιο της άσκησης, οι ενδιαφερόμενοι θα ασχοληθούν με την προώθηση προγραμμάτων περιβαλλοντικής εκπαίδευσης, τη διαχείριση μέσων κοινωνικής δικτύωσης και την ανάπτυξη branding. Επίσης, θα εμπλακούν σε διεθνείς δράσεις που πραγματοποιούνται στην Κύπρο και θα συντονίζουν την επικοινωνία με διεθνή δίκτυα.
Αιτήσεις για την πλήρωση 2 θέσεων γίνονται δεκτές μέχρι 31 Ιανουαρίου 2017 και υποβάλλονται ηλεκτρονικά μαζί με βιογραφικό σημείωμα (Europass form) στο network@akti.org.cy.

Mare Nostrum Network Workshop 2016!
The Mare Nostrum Network is intended to serve as a support platform for civil society organizations involved in ICZM (Integrated Coastal Zone Management) and conservation throughout the Mediterranean coast.The purpose is to form a network of active citizens, associations, NGOs and other civil society organizations that have shown their commitment to the protection of the Mediterranean.
These members have joined forces to create a unique collaborative, bottom-up system committed to ensure the sustainable development of their local communities along a healthy Mediterranean coast.
Ms. Christiana Melinioti, Member of the Green Cluster Management team, representing AKTI Project and Research Centre participated at the 2nd Mare Nostrum annual workshop, which took place in Le Herrandura, Spain. The main aim of the workshop was to focus on Marine Litter and opportunities in Mediterranean Sea Conservation projects.

INFORMATION VISIT TO BRUSSELS
We are proud to announce that Koula Aristodemou will represent AKTI Project and Research Centre in the information visit to Brussels organized by the Representation of the European Commission in Cyprus, between 29 November and 2 December 2016. The main focus of the visit will be the acquaintance on European Union’s institutions and citizens’ rights, while it will provide participants networking opportunities for possible future collaboration.

The Results from AKTI’s Summer 2016 Beach Cleanup Campaign in Politis Newspaper
In July 2016, AKTI organised 10 beach cleanups with 10 local authorities around the island of Cyprus, from Protaras all the way to Polis Chrysochous. The results from the campaign show that small items of litter (such as cigarette butts, straws, pieces of paper, food wrappings) that are left behind by beach goers and that cannot be picked up by the local authorities’ cleanup equipment, are an important waste. These results are referenced in an article written by Katerina Stefanou and published in Politis Newspaper on the 21st of August. You can read the article here.
