This time, AKTI hosted 4 university students from Croatia, Austria, Bulgaria, and Romania — Ivan, Mario, Yana, and Daria — who joined us to dive into topics like Circular Economy and Waste Management, Climate Change and Participation, Green Education and Marine Plastic Pollution.
Here’s how they made it count:
Kicked off with a cleanup at Athalassa Park alongside AKTI’s team, while engaging in meaningful discussions about Cyprus’s biodiversity and the importance of preserving urban green spaces.

Traveled to Paphos to meet some of our inspiring HoReCa businesses and learned firsthand how they implement sustainable practices on their path toward a greener future.

Visited the Avakas Gorge to admire Cyprus’s stunning natural landscapes and reflect on the connection between eco-tourism and conservation.

Took part in the RESIsles Video Competition – Award Ceremony, where over 170 students, teachers, and university students came together at Psimolofou Primary School to celebrate young voices tackling climate change through storytelling.

Sparked thoughtful discussions with local students and AKTI’s team about how climate change affects everyday life — both during their stay in Cyprus and in their home countries.
A warm thank you to our interns for bringing their energy, creativity, and enthusiasm to AKTI.
